Excerpt:
I was born with what is officially termed qudrilateral tetra-amelia. However, it is easier just to say that I was born with no arms or legs. I cannot use prosthetic limbs because I have no partial limbs to which they could attach. I use a power wheelchair that I steer with my shoulder. I write with a pen in my mouth and type with a dowel stick …… I have often said that if I were to ever write an autobiography I would entitle it after the sentence I have spoken more than any other in my life: “I Was Born This Way.”
